My 1st Hiking Shoes!

Well, today I have a first half team building activity and have some free time after lunch, hence it is good timing for me to survey around for a suitable hiking shoes. I am really so get into adventuring now!

I went to Gurney Plaza but unfortunately most of the promoter not able to offer me useful suggestion and information on hiking shoes pros and cons, hence i can't really make up my mind on what is needed for me yet. I try my luck by walking to Gurney Paragon, and here I am in Royal Sporting House there.

I am looking at hiking shoes series, Merrell, from the rack, and wish to have some try on the trail running type of it. A polite and friendly youngster promoter, Mr.Tan did serve me but taking the shoes for me to try. While i struggling after trying few, he start to ask if I am trying to fit myself with hiking shoes series for the first time? I said yes, and he start to share all the knowledge about hiking shoes, and also the importance of it when we are doing adventurous activities. I did share my experience and how I am into adventuring and hiking now, and he is suggesting me to go for Merrell Capra Bolt Mid Waterproof series. At first I felt greedy and wish to go for trail running, in which I still can use it for both running/hiking, but after taking his advice, i am buying his idea to have few shoes to rotate, instead of putting too much burden on one. This might also affect shoes cushioning recovery, which make us feel the shoes is not that comfort anymore. From his study and understanding, shoes need its 'rest' as well.

Well, after testing and feel the comfort of the new shoes, I make a quick decision to take it as my first hiking shoes! Personally, I did like the shoes and it is really comfort, but Mr.Tan service was also a huge reason why I make the decision. The friendly sincerity did convince me to make the decision so fast, hence to the boss of Gurney Paragon Royal Sporting House, he really make a great job as a promoter and well deserved for recognition!
