Aurora Hunting Night

Before we check in to the hotel, we decided to visit the famous Hallgrímskirkja church. I am the only one that came over to have a view when I have a morning jog on the other day, but it was just a brief one. The exterior of course is magnificent, but I am also impress with the details and grand interior design within the church. The 360 degree view from the top of the tower towards every corner of Reykjavik is also very breathtaking. We have our dinner in Loki cafe just opposite of Hallgrímskirkja before back to the hotel for some rest.

We reach our hostel and take turns to have our bath on the public toilet. While we waiting, we met fellow Malaysian having their dinner via the public kitchen. They are coming from Ireland, and we chit chat a lot and share our travel experiences in Iceland to them as they only reach a day earlier, while we almost end our journey here. End up our bath took like an hour before we get some good rest back in our room.

Everyone are very tired and just want to have a good sleep, hence it was only me and Hybrid that is still energetic to do some aurora hunt out there. Hybrid bring me over to an empty spot with total dark which is near to a golf course. We spend an hour or two here but there isn't any signs hence we decided a bite on the famous sausages again, before heading home to ask others if they want to join us or not since they already took some nap. Surprisingly everyone is interested except Gary, and we proceed for second trial at the same spot.

Finally after around another 1-2 hours, we manage to hunt some slim aurora but still barely can be seen by naked eyes, but still we are quite satisfied with it.

Two cents on the aurora sighting, always treat this as a bonus of the trip, don't burden or pressure yourself too much and felt that it is a waste if the trip completed without a proper sighting of aurora, it is not! Iceland itself is very beautiful in term of its natural scenic and stunning landscape, definitely a very enjoyable and memorable trip for me, I believe for the whole PPP team too!

One more day and we are about to leave Iceland.
