Hoover Dam

After few weekends of national parks getaway, is time for a visit to the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. I will be driving my car for the trip in a group of 5 hence a night earlier I have to drive that dirty car over to car wash center for a proper clean up. Well, you paid for the car wash but you still have to clean it yourself with the provided accessories! Get ready at around 5AM, and thanks to the fresh brew coffee by Homewood Suites, we are ready for the long ride again.

The drive towards Las Vegas was around 325 Miles, and the day was very beautiful with cotton candy like clouds almost covered the great blue sky all along the way. It was a good day for a long drive. Before getting ourself into the Sins City, there is one place that I eagerly have to visit, the Hoover Dam, which famously feature in Michael Bay Transformers movie on 2007. Hoover Dam is a dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 and its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. Originally known as Boulder Dam from 1933, it was officially renamed Hoover Dam, for President Herbert Hoover, by a joint resolution of Congress in 1947.

Almost fully cover the blue sky.

Due to limited time, we first drive through the dam into car park area for some closeup view on the Hoover Dam as well as the beautiful Colorado River that flew through the dam. Second, heading over to Boulder Dam Bridge parking and have a very great overview on the dam high from a walkway bridge along Great Basin Highway. Lastly, quick stopover for a scenic view of unreal blue color of Lake Mead from the Lake View overlook! Very brief but very efficient and quick coverage on Hoover Dam, here we come Las Vegas!

About Me

I born as ordinary person in a ordinary place, doesn't mean that I want to live an ordinary life as well. Dream big, and take small steps a time to achieve each dreams in my bucket list.

"Walter Mitty: To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life."
